Dear Nancy and Marion:

5

I presume you saw in the press the idea of transferring the "Top Cottage" to Washington, or rebuilding it. I enclose a copy of letter I have received from Mr. Lemmon from the District of Columbia and copy of my answer.

6

In hunting for these drawings, I ran across the fact I had some original plans FDR drew on some paper you gave me. I had forgotten about them, but I remember when you loaned them to me you asked that I return them. I am sorry it has been so long. I had completely forgotten about the whole matter, but they are certainly yours and I would like to send them back to you as they may have some value, particularly if this project goes ahead.

7

I will send them to you as soon as I hear from you as I didn't want to trust the mail without being sure of your address.

8

I has just been too long without seeing you and Marion. The years roll by so fast. Once or twice I have been close to where you were and intended to get by to see you and something intervened.

9

Now I have a lot of partners who do most of the work and I am having a wonderful time trying to learn how to be a sculptor, as well as being unable to get out of this office which recently has gotten more and more busy and demanding.

10

It seems to me I have written you once or twice to come by and see us, as living in that northern climate you have to come to Florida once in a while but no word from you.

11

Do let me hear from you and confirm this address so I can return those drawings which have turned up and which I should have returned to you years ago.

12

Lots of love.

13

Sincerely yours,
Henry J. Toombs
