So far, the library uses only the most primitive of self-service systems. A record book with a pencil attached is provided for borrowers to sign out books, by writing the date, their name, and the title of the book borrowed. The pleasures of a charging card self-service system are reserved for the future.

The cost of prime essentials was $26.50. With that simple equipment and a great deal of willing volunteer work, the Warm Springs Foundation library became a useful, enjoyable collection. The Library Group of the National Patients' Committee are the "patient" and efficient librarians.
