FIRST twenty-four hours after arrival at Inn. . .the less said, the better. . .reference is made to Intestinal Fortitude. . .from there on it gets better rapidly. . .as to personnel of Foundation organization. . .it's remarkable how an Institution could be staffed with so many cheerful people. . .no wonder all the patients are cheerful. . .it's contagious. . .they even forget the architecture of the Inn. . .even that cannot depress them. . .wonder what it will be when the Inn is torn down and Georgia Hall completed!

2

As to wheel chairs, Henry Ford is overlooking a good bet for Wayside Inn. . .mine is authentic early American. . .every part original -- no restoration. . .worm holes guaranteed to be genuine. . .fabric side curtains are Mid-Victorian and original. . .wonder how they can afford to rent such a valuable antique for only 25 cents a week. . .and it's never bucked me out yet. . .such a gentle disposition!

Soon to the pool. . .via the truck. . .pardon me, the Bus. . .they say the driver never misses a bump. . .and if he does, it's pure carelessness on his part. . .I must count 'em some day so I can check up on him. . .after the trip to the circus the other day over the railroad tracks. . .down into the ditch and out again. . .I envied Dave Savage his legs when we were at the bottom and thought we couldn't make it. . .it was an annoying thought that the elephants were delayed and might not arrive before nightfall. . .I was relying upon them if we got stuck. . .and temperature inside the tent only 98 in the shade. . .(some one said the heat in a circus was always "in tents"). . .after that, no trip holds awe, thrills, or terrors for me. . .I can go anywhere!

Wonder why "Physios," after contact with "Polios" all week can then be so kind-hearted as to take "Inmates" for a Sunday afternoon ride. . .wouldn't you think that during their leisure hours they would not want to associate with us. . .it's the Spirit, I reckon. . .it gets them all!

5

We're not superstitious, but we do believe in some signs. There is one on the campus which says, "Georgia Hall will be built here."

6

Visitor (to respirator case): "I didn't expect to see you sitting up so soon. Weren't you in the incubator last time I was here ?

Ye olde parale was reading a health column the other day. It was all about insomnia, and, as ye olde parale feels the need of more sleep, he read on until he reached this line, "If you don't get enough sleep, you should take a brisk five- mile walk every day." Well, well, well, so simple.
