Honorable Marvin H. McIntyre
Secretary to the President
The White House
Washington

5

Dear Colonel McIntyre:

6

I transmit herewith, for your information, a letter I received from Mr. James A. Casey, President of the Vulcan Anthracite Stoker Company and enclosures.

7

I do not know what type heating equipment the President Intends to use in the house in question, but I do know the Republican leadership is circulating a story that he will use oil. This rumor is hurting the cause of the Democratic Party and its candidates in the vast anthracite region in northeastern Pennsylvania.

8

Mr. Casey's offer is therefore transmitted through you for such action as the President may care to take.

9

Very truly yours,
Thomas Kennedy
Secretary-Treasurer.
