In the past issues of the Polio Chronicle there has been quite a large free circulation. It has been constantly growing from month to month.

2

At the last meeting of the National Patients' Committee the members moved to cut out free mailing of the magazine beginning with the November issue. In the future free copies will only be mailed to medical libraries and certain institutions where treatment of polio is studied.

The Polio Chronicle is becoming larger and better each month. At the same time the cost of publishing and mailing is increasing. If we continued to have free circulation it would prevent us from making the entry for low postage rates. During the past year over $400 was spent for extra postage alone.

4

Advertisers demand paid circulation. We feel that charity and business go together. We are working for more advertisement and hope to build it up enough in time to take care of the greater part of the expense of the Chronicle. Every dollar taken in for advertisement helps that much toward the expense of publishing the magazine.

5

Every dollar saved helps toward expanding our service. If you are now receiving the CHRONICLE free and wish to continue receiving it, send in your subscription in time to receive the next issue. It will be greatly appreciated by the Committee and will help in a good cause.
